ABOUT US

Televisi Star is a Bali-based brand founded by lifelong skateboarder Indra Leonardo. Started in 2016 as a media outlet through which Indra and his crew would film and post their clips on, the channel hit a standstill during the COVID-19 pandemic. With nothing to film but determined to make ends meet nevertheless, Indra started to sew several pants by request of friends and family, inspired by the baggy aesthetic of Tom Penny. Eventually, he saved up enough money to travel to Los Angeles to hand-deliver a couple pairs to some homies with nothing but the clothes on his back and two suitcases full of the first Televisi Star pants. After this successful trip, the brand was born. 

The original office was situated in a tiny apartment in the neighborhood of Dalung. With a bathroom converted to a fabric storage room and bed frames transformed into a table, Televisi Star has known humble beginnings! Since then, it has expanded to Denpasar, in a larger office space that was generously gifted to Indra by a Norwegian host family that he worked for in Norway back in 2012. The Televisi Star team has also expanded too, bringing in friends and family, all of whom share a passion for skateboarding. From simple origins, the brand has grown to be recognized and worn by the likes of TJ Rogers and many other pros. 

Every single item has been carefully crafted with care from start to finish in our office. Shortly after our launch, we started our #THEREMUSTBENOWASTE initiative to minimize fabric waste. Our artisans upcycle the fabric scraps from the cutting process to design custom 1/1 pants, as seen on our website. Besides minimizing pollution, our goal is to cultivate family and community here on the island. To this end, we regularly host community events, recently hosting our “Skate and Create” open house. 

Our office is open Monday-Saturday, and we invite you to join us on our journey. Stop by, skate our half pipe, chill with our crew, whatever! We look forward to welcoming you to the island.
